- A Charter on Corporate Responsibility for Environment Protection (CREP) covering 17 categories of highly polluting industries has been formulated by the ministry of Environment and Forests , in association with the Central Pollution Control Board.
- Industrial sector specific action points for each category were identified and listed for implementation after consulting various stakeholders. A few examples of these action points are augmentation of air pollution control devices in cement sector, more stringent emission norms for cement plants located in urban areas or critically polluted areas and installation of low NOX burner in new petroleum oil refineries.
- Task forces have been constituted to oversee the implementation of these action points.
