- French President Nicolas Sarkozy is set to arrive in India on Saturday on a four-day visit, accompanied by ministers and a business delegation. He will be keen to raise the economic profile of Indo-French bilateral ties.
- While defense deals are still being worked out, the chances of French civil nuclear power company Areva beginning work on the nuclear park site in Maharashtra appeared to have brightened.
- A few days back, the Environment Ministry indicated its approval for the nuclear power project comprising of six French-designed reactors. The Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd. is expected to initiate commercial negotiations with Areva for the project.
- He will visit the Indian Space Research Organisation in Bangalore and along with his wife Carla Bruni, leave the next day for a private visit to view the Taj Mahal in Agra.
