- Syria has rejected the Arab League proposal for deployment of a Joint UN-Arab Peacekeeping mission by the UN Security Council to monitor the situation in the country describing it as a hostile act that targets Syria's stability and security.
- The General Assembly will discuss a Saudi draft proposal calling for support to Arab League peace plan in Syria. The draft calls for Syrian President to step down. It says those responsible for killings of civilians in Syria should be held accountable. UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Navi Pillay will address the UN General Assembly session.
